CATECHISM DAY AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news” (Is 52:7)

The Sunday Catechism day was celebrated uniquely this year. On 4th March at 8:00 am all the catholic students’ and their parents, catechism teachers and parishioners gathered in the church for the Eucharistic celebration. The children conducted liturgy meaningfully.

In the evening at 3:00pm around 184 children’s with the catechism teachers, parents, parishioners gathered in the church hall with their colourful dress and smiling faces.

Mrs Janet Menezes the co-ordinator for 18 commissions in her introductory talk spoke on an urgency of inculcating the gospel values in children. She also appreciated the generous service of the outgoing sancahalaki Mrs Savitha Rodrigues and all the Sunday catechism teachers

Mr Robert Menezes an incoming sancahaalak presented the report. The attractive prizes were allotted for the various events like daily attendance, winners in the catechism exam, essay writing and so on.

Sr. Lilly Gonsalves Superior of Bethany Convent, Mr Ambrose Lobo the Vice President, Mr Robert Menezes the secretary and the Rev. Fr. Alexander Lewis Parish Priest distributed the prizes for winners.

Each class beginning with the students of class 1 to 12 staged the variety of entertainments and depicted the gospel values.

The parish priest in the Presidential addressed appreciated and thanked the self-service of the catechism teachers and for training the students with an inspiring values based which was excellent. He also thanked the parent’s for their commitment in sending their children for catechism and thus enable them to grow in Christian faith.
