Indian Catholic Youth Movement chapter at Kanajar was formed in the year 1981, with the motto:'Leadership through Service'. Inaugurated by central director Fr. John A Barboza and directed by then parish priest Fr. Jose M Menezes. Since then ICYM has organized a number of welfare programs.It has been conducting sports, literary and cultural programs. Altar servers have the following responsibilities during.Entrance: As bearers of lighted candles flanking another carrying the cross and as other participants in the entrance procession.Servers hold the liturgical books for the celebrant when he is not at the altar and is proclaiming the presidential prayers with outstretched hands. They bring and hold such things as books,, bowl and towel, patens, communion bowls, and microphones, Proclamation of the Gospel.
